Lowe’s has introduced a portable propane grill designed to resemble a Kobalt mini tool chest, rather than another tool box. The listed price is $99, and Lowe’s describes a 10,000-BTU burner and 220 square inches of grilling space; a possible Black Friday discount has not been confirmed.

Lowe’s has introduced a portable propane grill styled like a Kobalt mini tool chest, a product that could be mistaken at first glance for the brand’s small tool storage. The grill is listed at $99 and, according to Lowe’s product description cited by ToolGuyd, has a 10,000-BTU burner and 220 square inches of cooking space.

The design takes cues from a mechanic’s tool chest, with a decorative drawer-style front and metallic-look accents. The front is for appearance rather than tool storage: the product is a grill, not a Kobalt mini tool box. Lowe’s describes the styling as intended to bring the look of its mechanic’s chest to an outdoor cookout.

For cooking and cleanup, Lowe’s lists a 10,000-BTU propane burner and a cooking area of 220 square inches. The company says that space can fit up to eight burgers at once. A pull-out grease drawer directs drippings into a removable grease trap, which Lowe’s says is intended to make cleanup easier.

ToolGuyd reported the product and its $99 price, while noting that the initial appearance could suggest another mini tool box. The report includes an affiliate disclosure: ToolGuyd may earn a commission if readers buy through its links. The supplied material does not provide independent testing of the grill’s cooking performance, dimensions or portability.

A Novel Look for Portable Grilling

The product combines Kobalt’s tool-chest styling with a portable outdoor-cooking appliance, making its visual design a prominent part of the announcement. For shoppers, the key distinction is practical: despite its appearance, the item is a propane grill, and its drawer-like front should not be read as usable tool storage.

The stated $99 price gives buyers a specific starting point for comparing it with other portable grills, but the available source does not establish how it compares on cooking results, durability or value. Lowe’s listed specifications may help shoppers judge capacity, while independent reviews or hands-on testing would be needed to assess performance beyond the manufacturer’s description.

Tool Chest Styling, Grill Function

The announcement is notable because the product’s appearance closely resembles a small mechanic’s chest. ToolGuyd’s report says it initially looked like Lowe’s had launched another Kobalt mini tool box, then clarifies that the newly introduced item is a grill. Lowe’s product wording presents the design as a way to carry the recognizable tool-chest look to cookouts.

The confirmed details in the supplied report are limited to the listed price, fuel type, burner rating, cooking area, stated burger capacity and grease-management design. ToolGuyd also floated the possibility that the grill could become a Black Friday doorbuster, but framed that as speculation—not a confirmed sale or promotion from Lowe’s.

“Bring the unmistakable look of a Kobalt mechanic’s tool chest to your next cookout.”

Price, Promotions and Performance

The supplied report does not establish whether the $99 price is temporary, whether the grill will be discounted for Black Friday, or when any promotion might begin. ToolGuyd’s doorbuster suggestion is speculation. The available information also does not specify the grill’s dimensions, weight, expected run time, included propane equipment, warranty or availability by store or online.

The capacity of up to eight burgers and the description of cooking performance come from Lowe’s product wording. No independent test results are included, so actual cooking consistency and ease of transport have not been confirmed by the source material.

Watch for Lowe’s Sale Details

Shoppers interested in the grill can check Lowe’s current product listing for availability and updated pricing. Any Black Friday offer would need to be confirmed by Lowe’s; none is established in the supplied report. Further product details or independent reviews could clarify portability, included components and performance in use.

Until Lowe’s announces a promotion or more specifications become available, the confirmed news is limited: a Kobalt-styled portable propane grill is listed for $99 with the stated burner and cooking-area figures. The timing and terms of any future discount remain unknown.
